A couple of weeks ago my friend Melissa visited from Atlanta. It was actually a birthday visit that Tony arranged. He knew that I needed a friend more than any bauble - and he was right! It was the best surprise ever.

Bruges has a beautiful Market Square
We saw a lot of the town by boat
The canals lead throughout the entire town, as well as beyond to other towns in Belgium and The Netherlands
Before heading back to Brussels we took a Belgian Waffle break at a restaurant on the Market Square, though we are sorry to say the waffles weren't nearly as good as the ones you can buy for about 2 euros from a waffle stand!
