Grayson's first visit to the dentist

Last week I took Grayson to the dentist for the first time. He was really scared to go, but as soon as he walked in and Dr. Goettl greeted him in his friendly way and showed him around he was fine.

And his teeth were in perfect condition.

Me and my babies

My friend Marti (www.picturemommy.com) is in a photography class and needed some "models" to photograph for a project so of course I volunteered! Thanks Marti - these photos are wonderful!

Grayson's Art

Grayson is becoming quite the artist. Last week he brought this picture home from school. We loved, loved, loved it, until he told us that it was him, holding a "shooter gun." Great. Let's not get kicked out of preschool, ok Grayson?

I jumped out of a window

Yep, it was a first for me. And no, my kids didn't drive me to do it. I'm perfectly happy, though sleep deprived. We were trying to make the 1920's lock to our bedroom operational, and in doing so managed to lock ourselves in. The good news: Grayson was with Tony and me in the bedroom. The bad news: Max was not - he was asleep in his swing in the living room. Mild panic set in as we tried every which way to unlock the door. No luck. It was not going to budge. So then we tried to take the door off its sticky 1920's hinges. With no tools other than a hairbrush it was impossible. So we started to look out our window and discuss WHO would jump.
That's the window on the far right
I insisted it be me. Although Tony is a lot taller I argued that I was a lot more limber and could take the impact better. With Grayson under strict orders to stay on our bed and not come close to the window I carefully climbed out and lowered myself down slightly. Just as I did this Tony started saying "No, I don't think this is a good idea, no, don't do it" . . . and instead of debating I just pushed off from the side of the house and jumped, and landed on my feet and then rolled onto my back. "ARE YOU OK" he yelled. Yes, just fine. It was a lot farther than I had realized, but I was fine. Not sure if I could ever do it again, but fine. Max still asleep, I ran into the house and passed under the door the tools Tony needed to get the door off its hinges. Now what to do about that lock . . .
