Soccer at Heritage

Grayson played his first HPS soccer game yesterday and it was a blast.  This is one of just two "friendly" games against other teams in their league.  HPS didn't have enough kids to make up a team for an official season of play but they were able to have these two friendly matches.  And Grayson played offense the entire game and scored the ONLY TWO goals for HPS! Yep - our fifth grader playing with middle schoolers against middle schoolers scored TWO goals - the only goals for our team.  We were proud of him and he was so excited!  And he made a third shot on goal that was so so so so close.  It was great to see him on the soccer field again!

Cross Country

Middle School sports have begun for our family.  Grayson is in 5th grade and eligible for our school's middle school teams.  He is so excited!  And we are so excited for him!  Today he ran in his first cross country meet.  He ran hard, he ran strong, he got knocked down but he fought back and got up and kept running.  And in the end he finished 18th out of around 100 middle school boys.  He was happy. We couldn't be more proud.

Back to School, 5th, 1st, and Pre-k

And just like that it was time to head back to school.  These three kids may love summer, but they love school too.  And Ella was so excited to join her big brothers at school.  My little Pre-k-er confidently walked into school so very ready to start school with the big kids.  Grayson was so excited to be back with his friends.  Max was reluctant to leave behind his legos and the joy of hours and hours of summer building, but he too was happy to see friends and play football with his brother at the big kids' play break for the 1st year!

Summer 2015

It's hard to believe Summer is coming to an end and the kids return to school in just three days.  Summer 2015 highlights:

  1. Max learned to swim!
  2. Ella learned to swim!
  3. We unpacked and settled into our new house.
  4. We finished most of our summer bucket list - bowling, legoland, pools, parks, riding bikes, tennis, golf, visiting the grandparents in Florida, making homemade ice cream, went to a movie . . .
  5. Grayson made a new neighborhood best friend.
  6. Tony and I started walking together every evening - and we've stuck with it.
  7. Lots of cookouts on our new deck.
  8. Max built hundreds of lego creations.
  9. The kids invented a new front yard game - sweeper ball.
  10. I reconnected with my high school friends Sara and Debbie in Jacksonville Beach.
Bye bye summer - - we will miss you!
