Lake Como, Italy

We've just returned from a week on Lake Como in Northern Italy (yes, this is where George Clooney has a home, and no, we did not (unfortunately) get to meet him). I took hundreds of photos (literally), and picking out the best ones is nearly impossible. The views were breathtaking, the towns charming, and the food fantastic!

The panorama from our balcony

Grayson was so excited about the "fishing pool" - unfortunately Daddy wasn't as excited, the water was chilly!

But good Daddy that he is, he got in anyway

Breadstick anyone?

Grayson and I went on a nice walk our first day, on a little path just to the side of our villa (it was actually a condo, but "villa" sounds much more Italian)

There were lots of old stone farmhouses - many abandoned

And stunning views

Grayson wanted to jump in with Bruno and Andrea (who is hidden by Grayson), but I said maybe next time. These local boys didn't speak English, but they spoke a little French!

He did, though, enjoy the cool mountain water

Our villa was on the mountain above the little town of Argegno, population 654

Argegno's town square

Because my Mom was with us, we were able to have a date night

At La Comacina, we sat on a porch overlooking the lake and ate a traditional four course Italian meal (antipasti, pasta, main course (fish or meat), and dessert). And of course, lots of Italian wine.

Vegetarians, try not to gag- this was Tony's antipasti dish, which consisted of house made dried meats

We finished our meal with a chilled glass of limoncello, a lemon liqueur produced in Italy that is made from lemon rinds, alcohol, water, and sugar - It was delicious

More photos to come in the next post!
