For her third birthday our sweet girl asked for a pink cake, a pink phone, and a birthday party. The joy she felt for this celebration of her life was evident from the moment she awoke at 6:00 am and walked into the dining room to see pink streamers and bows, her great grandmother's antique linen and lace tablecloth, and her grandmother's wedding china. The third birthday is special. It is the first birthday where it is understood that it's a birthday, which is special, and that it's for her. This was Ella's day, and the four of us enjoyed letting it be just that. Her brothers graciously allowed her the spotlight, which she relished. As the third, this alone was special.
