Max has a heart for others, and recently it showed in a big, big way. He heard about Operation Christmas Child from Grayson, who will be packing shoe boxes with toys, school supplies, and hygiene products for needy children in a couple of weeks with his class from school. We were watching the video about Operation Christmas Child and Max decided he wanted to pack two boxes - one for a boy and one for a girl. On his own he found shoe boxes, we helped him wrap them, and then I brought him to Target to pick out items. From watching the video over and over he had memorized exactly what he needed and made sure we had all the items (and none of the prohibited items!). He took this project very seriously. When we got home he packed up the boxes and we printed and attached the labels. We then wrote each child a note from Max with his picture. And then he did what the video said was most important - he prayed for the boy and girl who would receive them. He then watched the video again to make sure he had done every step right. Never once did he ask to have any of the toys or other items that were for the boxes. In a couple of weeks we will take them to an Operation Christmas Child drop off location, and after they are delivered we should receive a notice of the country where the boxes were sent. I am so proud of our Max! This was truly HIS project - his idea, and his motivation to get it done, and for the right reasons.
